I created this series from 2019-2020 in order to learn and experiment more with still life photography. I recently bought a new lens for my camera - a Nikon 50mm fixed - which I hoped would allow me to take clearer images than the standard lenses that my camera came with. This was certainly the case, though it was a bit of a learning curve, as I realised throughout the process that I had relied heavily on the zoom feature of my previous lenses.

I also used these images to practice positioning (and setting up) of a tripod, as well as lighting. As I don't own any professional studio materials (or access to a photography studio) I created a custom one in my home. In the future, I hope to obtain more lamps (currently, I only have/use an ionmax lamp, which is designed to mimic sunlight),  as I struggled to get the correct lighting in some areas, and could have used an extra light for better effect. I overcame some difficulties by using a mirror to reflect light onto the object, but it was a little fiddly.
